What are the Different Types of Epoxy Flooring

Epoxy floor coatings are available in a wide range of formulations, which many customers are surprised to learn. No matter whether you are installing epoxy in a home garage, a food processing plant, a warehouse, or a hospital, the choice of epoxy will depend on the environment. Epoxy flooring comes in several types.

Epoxy made from 100% solids. An epoxy flooring product consisting of 100% epoxy solids is durable. Whether you are using a DIY garage epoxy kit or “epoxy paint”, epoxies can contain up to 40% solids.  Concrete flooring with epoxy mortar. It is designed to be used in industrial environments with the highest demands for durability. The chemical and impact resistance of epoxy mortar systems is superior.

Epoxy that dissipates static electricity. In industries that handle volatile chemicals and electronic components, this formulation provides electrostatic control properties.

Epoxy crystal. This type of epoxy flooring is extremely hard-wearing but decorative and comes with colorful quartz granules.

Flooring made of epoxy flake. Garages and commercial areas are popular places to install epoxy flooring. An attractive decorative effect is added by scattering colored epoxy flakes over its surface, as well as a slip-resistant texture.

Epoxy coated with metal. Metallic pigments are combined with epoxy resin to produce a three-dimensional appearance.

What are the applications of epoxy flooring?

Among the many uses of epoxy concrete coatings are industrial, residential, and commercial settings. In addition to installing epoxy in these settings, we also install epoxy in a wide variety of other environments:

Parking garages

Below-ground levels

A brewery or distillery

A retail store, a shopping center, a bar, or a nightclub

The medical sector includes physician practices, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and vet clinics

Dealerships for automobiles

Facilities that process, prepare, and serve food

Public restrooms, locker rooms, and gyms

Buildings associated with public safety

Facilities for education

This high tech flooring option is a very exotic-looking and technologically advanced alternative to electroplating. These coatings produce a glossy and deep-looking floor that comes in many different colors and textures.

In some cases, they can even create craters, ripples, and rivers of metallic looking plasma that appear to swirl and form in three dimensions.
In order to create seamless floors with a three-dimensional appearance, Metallic Epoxy pigments are dispersed in binders to create a seamless epoxy mix.

The floors are perfect for retail establishments, clubs, garage floors, auto showrooms, and residential interiors. The Metallic Epoxy System is exceptionally durable and long-lasting due to the use of high-performance epoxy/polyurea resins.

There is no similarity between metallic and pigmented floors. Each individual installer creates metallic floors using his or her own artistic ability.

It is not uncommon to see major differences in five floors that have the same color installed by five different installers. One can do so many different things with metallic floors because it is an art form. There are many options available to you.
